Crew Profile
Professional Skipper and Yachtmaster, Javier Torras was born in Barcelona and spent most of his youth in a small coastal town on the Costa Brava, Catalonia and Ibiza. His parents introduced him to sailing at a very young age, he went through most of the dinghy sailing classes and finally competed in national and international regattas.
He studied at universities in England and Spain, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Maritime Leisure Management and a Master's degree in Business and Finance. He speaks fluently Spanish, French, English and Italian.
After having worked for some years as a Marina Manager, he decided to follow a somewhat different career closer to the sea, becoming a Professional Skipper. He has extensive experience in yacht deliveries and transatlantic voyages and has worked in the charter industry for over a decade in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He was also a Windsurf Instructor, SSI Dive Master and Diving Guide.
He is a respectful and friendly person, he likes to offer clients a pleasant and unforgettable experience, sometimes interacting fully with them and other times allowing maximum space and intimacy.
“I firmly believe that customers are with us to have a pleasant time and a wonderful browsing experience. I not only have a responsibility for your personal safety and comfort, but a role as a guide, instructor and friend.”
