Crew Profile
Meet Captain Nicholas Olney
Born and raised in Langebaan, South Africa, Nicholas has had saltwater in his veins
since the age of five, when he first picked up a fishing rod. By eight, he was already at
the helm of powerboats, setting the course for a lifelong love affair with the ocean.
A true waterman, Nicholas is a skilled fisherman, Divemaster, and sailor, thriving in the
rhythm of the tides. Whether casting lines, navigating open waters, or leading snorkelling
adventures, he brings a deep respect for the sea and a passion for sharing its wonders.
Beyond his technical expertise, Nicholas is known for his humble and kind nature. He
believes a positive attitude and a smile can take you a million miles—an approach that
makes every journey with him as rewarding as the destination. For Nicholas, there’s no
place like the ocean, where adventure, camaraderie, and the thrill of the chase come
together in perfect harmony.
Meet Chef Arno Smith
Chef Arno Arno has for as long as he could remember been on and around boats. He has a deep passion for the oceans and his career started shaping at the age of 16 when he was one of the youngest volunteers within the National Sea Rescue Institute.
After working in the charter industry for some time as a captain Arno took the leap to pursue his true passion, that of being a chef.
After two years as a self-taught chef he took another big step and signed up to receive his formal chefs training and qualification from the South African Chefs Academy.
Arno loves baking and working with freshly sourced ingredients and is a firm believer in cooking from scratch. He loves bringing South African flavour into his dishes and often treats guests to some traditional delicacies. When Arno is not in the galley, you can find him on a long road-trip, fishing or on camping trips with friends. He can’t wait to make you feel at home onboard and share his passion with you.
